“Hoodoo, A Practice of Old” a Poem

Hoodoo poem

Hoodoo, a practice of old,

African magic, stories told,

Foot track magic, crossroads too,

Laying down tricks, all for you.

Ritual sweeping and floor washing,

Ritual bathing, all so calming,

Hoodoo rootwork, not good or bad,

Change is the goal, it’s not a fad.

Vodou merges Catholic and African beliefs,

Unique rituals, dolls and drawings beneath,

Hoodoo and Vodou, both misunderstood,

But their power and beauty are both so good.
